Expert #21 Meisselbach pin drag model, nickel plated brass. Three patent dates on face plate and Expert on cross-member are the only markings. The existence of the #21 was not known until after an advertisement in the 1893 Anglers Guide was discovered several years ago. Prior they had been considered to be the Expert #22 as the same spool and frame was used. The fitment of the foot with screws, the threaded spool spindle with a knurled nut and retaining screw, and the unique grasp on the #21 set it apart. these reels are seldom seen or properly identified.
