This is a interesting and
exceptionally rare FOE collectible. We saw this described as a
document case, but it's only 2” x 1 15/16”, so we’re not sure
what kind of documents it held. Maybe a FOE identification card. The
Flint, Michigan chapter of the FOE, Aerie, No. 629, was established
in 1904 and this case was patented in 1910, so this case is probably
over 100 years old. It's quite heavy for its size. The case is
decorated on one side with an eagle sitting on a rock, with foliage
surrounding the eagle. The other side has a banner with foliage, and
is monogrammed. The case weighs 1.3 oz (36.85 gm). It is monogrammed
with the letters GAH.
