    3 Class Military Merit Cross in Fitted Titled Case by Lauer of Nurnberg and Berlin with Swords for Combat(see scans).  For Bavarian Troops this class of the Order is roughly equivalent to the Prussian Iron Cross 2nd Class.  The  Bavarian Military Merit Order was
    originally founded in 1866, which is dated on the Reverse, and with an "L" on the obverse for its founder King Ludwig II.
