    Description

RARE Antique 1920's Alfred Sougne of Leige Belgium Fly Fishing Reel - Working
This is an extremely rare piece to come across
You will most likely never have a chance to buy one again
Made by the renowned Belgian fisherman Alfred Sougne in the 1920's prior to the opening of Maison Sougne
Photo number 7 and 8 is a booklet by him in 1924 on Trout fly fishing
The booklet is not included in the sale as I found it online while researching this piece
The words in photo 8 are translated below via google translate
SOUGNE (Alfred). - Fly trout fishing. Liège, Alfred Vonnêche Fils, 1924.
    Size: 21.5 x 13cm. 75 pages plus 6 notes, unnumbered.
Unknown draw. No particular copies. No other edition.
The author was well known in his day as a fisherman out of the ordinary and for launching the fly with the greatest of the kingdom, including with Queen Astrid, whom he learned to fish.
For years (this is not his best title of glory) he lived only the sale of the product of his fishing. Then in the early 1920s he opened a fishing tackle shop in Liège. In the meantime, he had married a widow. This is how he became the adoptive father of Marcel Henrion, author of a beautiful book described in this site and owner in Brussels of the "Maison Sougné", a famous fishing tackle store that he named for benefit from the great reputation of Alfred Sougné.
    Very very rare.
This reel measures approx. 2 15/16" across by 1 1/4" wide
It comes exactly as pictured in photos 1-6
An excellent addition to any collection
Definitely a piece that nobody you know owns
    Thanks and God bless you
